Trying to trace Robert Black, born Scotland arrived 1856:-58 Alfred Moreton Bay Australia

There’s also a Robert BLACK aged 14  ;D arriving in January 1856 on the James Fernie to Moreton Bay.  He came with his parents and siblings.  The younger members of the family are listed with their parents, the older ones are listed as Single Male or Single Female.   This is to do with the fare structures applicable at that time, and that determined the meal allowances, sleeping arrangements and other practical issues during the voyage.

The 'Alfred' manifest arriving, as you have, in Sept 1858 shows a Robert Black, aged 21, a ploughman by occupation and originating from Stirling. Have you tried to follow up details with that info back in the earlier Scottish censuses. There is this one for example from 1851:

Robert Black, 15, farm servant b. Stirling. This entry shows at the farm of a John Blair, at Little Ward, Kincardine, Perthshire....can't easily connect to an 1841 census entry so far.
