Yes, I know what you mean - but Glossop isn't the largest place on earth, and there's always the possibility of picking up family members you didn't know existed, visiting other relatives and so on - and, as you say, really useful when the name has been wrongly transcribed.  The person who writes the Lost Cousins newsletter reckons you need subs to both sites - I know what he means - though I think a lot of us would baulk at the cost - myself, I use A..y in the Library.  Not so useful, but better than nothing.
Hope you find what you want.

Hi,

1891
 RG12; Piece: 2783; Folio: 98; Page: 9

The Address is given as 17 North Road, Glossop + house name of "Park Field House"

Thomas Dearnaley   53
Elizabeth A Dearnaley   55
Hannah M Dearnaley   20
Betsy A Dearnaley   18
Sarah E Dearnaley   16
Joseph Dearnaley   14
Hannah Ashton   75

All Children born in Glossop.

Most of them still there in 1901, however address, is just North Road, Glossop
RG13; Piece: 3275; Folio: 10; Page: 11.

Is this the Surname you are looking for?  Lots of different ways for spelling, you could try
Dearnaly.

Always remember on the 1911 Census the Householder filled in the address, so when you find the
actual Census sheet always click to the next sheet for full address.

That's great the house exists, so now it's down to me to find out if this family link with the family 45 years later.  I'm waiting for a surname from a relative.  Thanks for taking the trouble to look..

have you seen this website
http://familytree.dearnley.com/reports/g1/p1180.htm#i11795

It says:
" In 1893 Joseph Taylor Dearnaley was a Cashier in Paper Manufactory.
......died on 29 November 1919 at Parkfield, North Road, Glossop, Derbyshire, at age 80 years and 9 months"
Probate : 21 February 1920 at Derby

If that is correct then that does cover the period over the 1911 Census so it would seem reasonable that he/and/or family would be at Park Field or Parkfield then.

Have you tried a search at the FREE 1911 Census index with all the surname variations?

Search name: Joseph Dearnaly  with Residence Glossop brings up this in the FREE INDEX
www.1911census.co.uk/search/results4.aspx?x=363534668

One born 1877 and one born 1838.

If you try those exact spellings and Date of Birth and Residence you may have more luck finding it elsewhere - and you can check if that is the one at North Road.
