By the way, Elizabeth's surname seems very unusual in the spelling.  Is it correct as you have it?

By the way there are various newspaper stories about an Elizabeth St Ledger in county Cork who married Richard Aldworth and that she was the only female Freemason.  But this Elizabeth St Leger was born 1693 and married Richard Aldworth in 1713.  So you are looking for descendants  a couple of generation or so later who came to Australia?

Or is it just a coincidence of names (and I'm way off track)?

Thanks for your help I am grateful, the reason I want to upload a photo, as 99% of people on so many web sites have got the wrong picture of Elizabeth St Ledger Aldworth.  The one circulating is an engraving of her done by a man in 1909, with the story highly exaggerated to make money, and did no proper research, as the St Ledger family still lived there.  And would give no permition to an unknown person, as they were a vary private family.  Her portrait hangs I think in the Irish national Museum.  A copy of which I have.

I have a couple of pictures of her as she is my direct ancestor down the Aldworth line, as her brothers died in battle, she left her younger son Doneraile and elder son Newmarket where my grandmother was born.

Recently, my cousins sent round an amazing story about my great great grandfather who fell in love with Mary Ryan and had a son Thomas. They were sent to New Zealand and Thomas went on to play with first All Blacks, Married a Maori and became quite a good artist. This has been kept secret from the last 3 generations and now we're all reunited on Facebook with fourth cousins in NZ.

That picture is of Elisabeth Aldworth, born in 1690 and died aged 80 in 1770 and they found her in a lead coffin (i think, can't remember) under St Finbarr's cathedra in Cork when it was rebuilt (they told me when I visited).
