Thank you eadaoin.
The Smith at 24 was a Samuel John who is currently unknown to my family, but since it appears that Shandon is No 24, and there are not a lot of Smiths in that area, it seems a huge coincidence that another Smith, also a Primitive Methodist, should be living there in 1911 and 1922, unless there is a family connection.
We know that my great grandmother Isabella Smith was living at 37 Kildare Street in 1894 the year before her husband died, that when he died they were living at 1 Lower Fitzwilliam Road, and that they left there for Shandon at some stage after her husband died in 1895. Various members of her family were certainly receiving mail at Shandon from 1903 to 1907. I also "know" from a Boys Brigade souvenir booklet from the 1940s that my then twenty year old grandfather moved from somewhere in the parish of St Anne's to Charleston Road Methodist Church in Rathmines in 1898. So maybe Samuel and family took Isabella and family in? If so, I have a whole new avenue of family history to explore.
Thanks again,
Terry
