Yes Maud Irene A BERRYE married first Francis WAGSTAFF and then Alexander REFFELL. However in my tree I have Maud Irene's death entered as 1984 (age 94). Unfortunately I do not have the source. It must be something online.

I cant see that death on Freebmd, Ancestry or FindMyPast. The only one is the 1941 one aged 54.

I do not know the parents of Alexander REFFELL. He died in March qtr 1947 aged 89 in Maidstone, Kent. I wonder if he is related to Ernest Edward REFFELL, the father of Irene Maud REFFELL (whose birth year I do not know). There is a death in Maidstone in September qtr for an 1941 Irene M REFFELL aged 54 which means that that Irene M was born in 1887. I do not believe she is Irene Maud, daughter of Ernest Edward REFFELL who married in 1908 in Stow, Suffolk. I believe that Irene M 1887-1941 was not nee REFFELL. Maud Irene A REFFELL nee BERRYE was born in 1889.

Alexander Reffell was born in Tunbridge Wells in 1858. I do not find them in the 1861 census and by 1871 his mother is a widow. The census calls his mother Ellen (Ellin) Reffell. Looking for a marriage there is

So Alexander's parents should be Johnh Alfred Reffell and Ellen Adams. John dies in 1869 aged 42 in Tunbridge Wells hence why he is not on the census in 1871

Ernest Edward Reffell was not related to Alexander Reffell, at least not closely. Ernest was the son of Samuel who was the son of Samuel. Alexander was the son of John who was the son of William

For Alexander S REFFELL born 1858 I have Lucy Maria VINALL as spouse. She died in 1908. Alexander S died in 1947.

So I suppose he must have married Maud Irene A BERRYE afterwards in 1920. I had these 2 marriages to 2 Alexanders. Thank you that tidies up my trees a lot.

New to this. My mums name was Irene Maud Reffell. She lived in South London until the 1950s when she moved to Dartford.
