Hi I'm trying to find out if my father Francis Shields born 1928 in lochore Fife Scotland and emigrated to Canada about 1957 is still living or any other information he first went to Elliot lake to work for a mining company last know address for him was 72 Glen Davis Crescent Toronto I would really appreciate any information

As you've been told before, Rootschat isn't a forum for tracing living people. Even if your father has died it might be difficult to find information online (Ontario also has restrictions regarding vital records). It's also possible that he didn't stay in Canada (the U.S. border isn't that far) or moved to another province.

As far as i am aware he did not marry again I know this by letters from his Solicitor to my mum refusing my mum a divorce and that was as late as 1990 he was a miner at the uranium mines at elliot lake at least until I was born but what he did after that I dont know he was still at Elliot Lake when i was born as thats the address that is on my birth certificate and I know he lived in Toronto in the 80s as its a toronto address we have for him then

It's still possible (going by his year of birth) that he's still alive. It's also possible that he left Canada after the 1990s (latest you've any information on him) and either died or is still living there (I mentioned U.S. since it's the most likely country).
