I have now, thanks to Ken, found out a little more about Douglas Hamlin McKie.
He was a 2nd Lieutenant with the Northumberland Fusiliers, 3rd Battalion, attd. (I don't know what that stands for) 27th (Tyneside Irish) Battalion.
As far as I can make out the 27th (Service) Battalion (4th Tyneside Irish) joined with the 24th (Service) Battalion (1st Tyneside Irish). If I have the right link, in 1917 (the year Douglas Hamlin McKie 'died of wounds') they were involved in the First Battle of the Scarpe, the Second Battle of the Scarpe, the Battle of Arlieux, the fighting at Hargicourt and the Third Battle of Ypres. What I can't seem to discover is in which battle he was wounded.
Can anyone help please?
Joan
