Thank you for taking the time to read this.
Hoping not to make this too long but giving you as much info as possible.
Trying to trace the history prior to marriage of Louisa Mildred Tracey b. Dublin 22.2.1875. Had a sister Catherine and were orphaned following their mother's death about 1865 ish, and the death of their father in a steamroller accident. The girls were raised and worked in the home of Sir Ralph Cusack Furry Park, Dublin.
Louisa's mother was an educated woman known as a 'Bob Lady' who visited homes providing a letter writing service and we think that it was through this that the girls came to the attention of Sir Ralph.
Louisa married William Crook b. Salford 17.12.1872 (Parents William & Rachel)
1st. child Louisa Mildred b. Salford 1898. Fiver further children Rachel, William, Robert, Alice and George. Another child Edith died as a baby . . . all born Cork Ireland.
Have 1911 Irish census indicating married abt. 1897 . . . confirmed by Golden Wedding Salford 1947. Cannot find a marriage ref. in England. Had 3 possible for Dublin but a waste of 25euros.
There is an Irish court ref. in 1906 of some infringement involving a donkey. But it's the marriage certificate for Louisa & William and any history prior that we are hopeful for.
William at some time was possibly a RN Stoker attached to HM Victory Barracks Portsmouth, possibly before they settled in Ireland.
Wlliam & Louisa lived in Cork until they returned and settled in Salford about 1920.
All help, hints and advice, greatly appreciated.
Warm regards.
