As per usual, Sandra, Shelly, and Genealiza have left no stone unturned in uncovering the Quinn family. I can add very little other than a few bits of clarifying information.

First, Robert Quinn's registration for the U.S. draft does not mean that he served in the Army, as someone has pointed out. Older men were required the register for the draft in 1942, but the draft had been in effect since 1940 for younger men. There were three previous drafts from 1940 onward, going from younger to older men. The draft records of younger men have not been released because many of those who registered are still alive.

Second, if you are interested in having a copy of Robert Quinn's draft record from 1942, you have to download two images. When the draft records of a few counties in Pennsylvania were microfilmed in the 1950s or so, there was a foul up in the ordering of the cards. The reverse side of one man's card was microfilmed with the front of another man's card.

Thus, if you scroll down on Robert Quinn's draft registration image (#3087) to look at the reverse side of the card, you'll see that the last line has Philadelphia, Pennsylvania as the place of registration. To see the actual reverse of Robert's card, you have to click on the forward arrow above the images and go to card #3088--and scroll to the bottom of that, which has Wilkinsburg as the place of registration. Download both images.

Wilkinsburg, incidentally, borders the city of Pittsburgh on the east. Robert Quinn's occupation in the 1940 census is "bench hand" "electric appl."  The towns next to Wilknisburg had some of the largest industrial companies in the U.S. Robert might very well have worked for one of them/ Perhaps it was Westinghouse Electric Co., which was very big in household appliances like refrigerators, washing machines and dryers, and radios.

Third, even though son Thomas Quinn served in the U.S. Army in World War II, he is not buried in a military cemetery. The Pittsburgh area's military cemetery is called the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies (referring to the Allegheny Mountains, which are east of Pittsburgh). Jefferson Memorial Park is located a few miles from where, according to his obituary, Thomas Quinn lived: Scott Township. Scott Township is located south of Pittsburgh and is a very affluent area.

According to Thomas' obituary, he did very well for himself. He had his own accounting agency, he was the accountant for the borough of Thornburg, which is near Pittsburgh, and he was the controller of a large department store chain in downtown Pittsburgh. His son who became a minister is at a church in Crafton, which is several miles to the northwest of Scott Township.

Regards,
John  :o :o :o

Thanks Johnnyboy For your input that too has proved most helpful to me. I did e-mail the son of Thomas and am still waiting a reply. he may not be interested. but would be nice if he acknowledges it. :D
