yes I was starting to get father and son mixed up and thought perhaps Robert quinn was in the army as his details are logged into world war 1 and 2 registration cards..I am easily confused .com most of the time but now realise it was his son that may have been from military background. Thank you once again for helping me clear things up. The family seem to be in a family plot which certainly makes it easier for me to find them all. You have been a star! I will get on the ball again and see what else comes up.. first thing is to look for their grave..will keep you posted. :)

got unto find a grave and they will pop out to take a pic of their grave ..If Thomas Henry is buried with his parents then he may not have been married. If he was military would he have had to be buried in the military section or not? :)

I don't believe we've found any indication that Thomas H Quinn, son of Robert A Quinn, served in the military.  The Draft Registration Cards for his age group have yet to be uploaded to the web.  There are 2 or 3 Thomas H Quinns who did enlist for WWII, but none of them has yet to be proven to be your T H Quinn.

*modified:  his obit, on next page, states that he joined the Army in 1944

In reply to your last post, a serviceman can be buried anywhere his family wants:  i.e. a military cemetery or cemetery near their home.   He can still be buried near his parents and be married.  There are about 11 female Quinns buried in Jefferson Memorial Park cemetery.

Hi Magicmermaid,

Don't think Thomas is buried with his parents, if you look at the references. It looks as if Robert A Quinn and Mary Quinn were buried in location :-

Plot: Section G33 ASCENSION Lot 168C

Thomas H Quinn is buried in location :-

Section MJM JEFFERSON MAUSOLEUM & WCE Tier/Lev 177AA

There is a Lucille C Quinn buried in a similar reference - could this be the wife of Thomas ?

Plot: Section MJM JEFFERSON MAUSOLEUM & WCE Tier/Lev 177A

So, according to the obit, he enlisted in the Army in 1944, just after the invasion of Normandy and
served as a medic in France, Germany, and the Pacific.

Born in Wilkinsburg, PA, the son of Irish immigrants

PM message for last name of Lucille Quinn nee Stafford.  Her sister, Martha Stafford Whipps, was also interred in Jefferson Memorial Park.
