Death Lookup 1979 please

I have conflicting information which I hope can be resolved with a lookup on the Quebec death index.
Please could someone check:
William Horobin born 9 May 1889, Middlesbrough, England. Died St Lambert, Quebec 1979
I am wondering if I have this mixed up with
Walter C 'Robin' Bird died 1979 Ontario

9 ancestry trees give William Horobin born 9 th May 1889 and died 1979 in  St. Lambert, Quebec, Canada (no source information)   Not aware of a Quebec death index.  Privacy laws hamper the searches for BMD records in Canada. As a guide BMD Records are only available for births more than a 100 years ago, marriages 85 years ago (up to about 1928 at present) and deaths 70 years ago.

8 ancestry trees give Walter Victor Bird born 9 th September 1888 and died either 16th or 18th May 1979 Ontario or St Catherines Ontario. Married to Rebecca McCance 20 June 1914 Lincoln Ontario.
1 tree Walter C Bird has Walter married to Dorothy Ethel Horobin in 1935 Middlesboro Yorkshire.

Thanks -  The one I am interested in is the 'Horobin' link, which is probably my tree 'Smith/Waterhouse'. I have just noticed this odd co-incidence of father and son-in-law dying in the same year so was trying to check. I found a reference http://www.collectionscanada.gc.ca/genealogy/022-906.006-e.html#j which states that

A general index for marriages and deaths that occurred in the province of Quebec between 1926 and 1994 was prepared by the Société de généalogie de Québec. It is available on CD-ROM and can be consulted in many genealogical societies and libraries.

I was hoping someone might have access to that CD.
