Robert Johnston and Hannah Shields

Hi,

Robert Johnston was born in 1767. Around 1797 Robert married Hannah Shields. Robert and Hannah had a family of seven - James, Margaret, Alexander, John, Robert , David and Archibald. Following Hannah death around 1820 in Ireland (County Tyrone?), Robert married Mary Brown Nee Porter, a widow with one child Samuel Brown.

During the early 1830s Robert and his family emigrated to Canada. Robert's daughter Margaret and her husband James Porter (brother of her step-mother Mary Brown Nee Porter) did not emigrate.

I am a descendant of Robert Johnston through his son James.  One of James son's was George Johnston who moved to Michigan married and his son, Leo is my grandfather.
