What year was your mum born and is she still alive?

I was going to ask if you've found her on the 1939 register (but only if she's no longer with us or born before 1916)  http://www.findmypast.co.uk/1939register

A few children had been evacuated by the end of Sept 39 in preparation for the war.

Have you tried school records ? I know that their teachers went with them and stayed awhile to see the children settled.

If she is still alive can she remember names of who she stayed with, if sufficiently unusual you might find them on 1939 register.  Or other children evacuated with her (if deceased they won't be redacted).  I presume you have looked for her on 1939, some people still living have been known to slip through the net.

I was evacuated during the war, immediately after the Christmas 1940 blitz on Manchester.
I was three and a half years old.
My parents took me to my father`s cousin and his wife , in Shropshire.
I stayed with them a short while but they (after many years childless marriage)
were expecting their first and only child. I ,temporarily,went to my grandmother`s sister  and eventually to other people who were so good and kind to me.
I stayed the rest of the war with them.
I had a lovely time and am still in contact  with  their daughter.
I went to school and am on the register of that time.
unless you have some idea of where she stayed it will be very difficult.
