Just a general (ish) question.
Records must of been held of the children that were orphaned out during the war ??
Are these records obtainable ? If so where ?
Thanks in advance

If it was formal adoption, as seems likely, then they will be held at the GRO?
See:
https://www.gov.uk/adoption-records/accessing-your-birth-records
But, they won't be easy to get hold of!
If you are a relative, then get your name on the Adoption Contact Register.

As there would have been quite a few of them ,I think a lot were informally looked after by family members.Aunties ,Uncles and grandparents. Not many official adoptions took place unless they were babies.

You could ask the London Metropolitan Archives

This is in regards to my mum, who was sent to Wales during the war and eventually did come back to London, would there be some sort of register for that ? She was not adopted.
Thanks

That happened to nearly all children who lived in towns and cities,it was called evacuation.
I don't think any records survive of it- but I stand to be corrected on that.

Yep thats the one, I just wondered if there were any records. My mum cannot remember much just that she was sent off to Wales, as well of hundreds of others

So she wasn't orphaned as you suggested in the first post?
If she went with her school, you 'may' be lucky'
