looking for an obituary or death notice

I'm looking for a death notice or obit for my great aunt. She was born Sarah Holford Roll in England in 1899. Her parents were Robert Beaver Perry Roll and Anne Trotter. She died in Canada, in Saanichton, BC in 1998. At time of death her name was Sarah Umbers. At some point in her past she was married to a Walter Walker.
I've tried everything I can think of to search for her on various sites and other than her being listed as a child in the 1901 and 1911 census in the UK, she doesn't come up in any results and I feel totally lost. I'd also like, if possible, to find out where she's buried 'cause no one knows where she is.

Hi Sinament,
Have tried the FreeBMD, HughWallis, and Familysearch websites for your ancestors' info. These are free ones that would have births and marriages in England. Your ancestors may have resided in other parts of Canada prior to going to BC as well, so you may want to check censuses there too. The Canadian National Archives do have the passengers' lists for that time period as well. Hope that helps.

Hi Sinament,
Forgot to mention that the BC government has a vital records site as well.

Manners cost nothing, and are worth the effort.

Married to Walter William Gladston Walker, 14 Feb 1926 at Wentworth.
Note, her surname is mis-transcribed as "Roel".

Thank you everyone. The BC vital statistics site doesn't give any info unless you order a death certificate and they charge $50 for that. I'd rather make sure I've exhausted all other possible sources before doing that.

Have you tried contacting the Victoria Public Library to see if they can look up an obituary or death notice for you.
