What where the worst things you had to endure as a child?

Hi,

I'll start it off:

I had an 8-year older brother - need I say more?

Being shunted around living with my gran, aunt etc.  Attending 7 junior schools.  Enduring my cousins' tormenting and missing my dad.  My mum was in and out of mental health institutions.

 

But,  I survived.

When I was a young girl, my friend and I would be taken to various house parties by our parents and promptly put to bed in the host's bedroom.  As more guests arrived the bedroom door would open and another couple of coats were thrown on the bed, as the evening wore on we were buried under a huge mound of coats.  Of course we later had to endure the finding of the right coat by the many tiddly revellers going home.  We still jokingly accuse them of being unfit parents

I think I had cod liver oil pushed down my throat.

Having to wear two pairs of knickers when it was cold - not even Winter - when staying at Mum's older sister.

As a child I rebelled at a lot of things that I thought were unfair.

That brings back the memory of woolen underwear over cotton underwear during winter months.
