Could someone please look up the above death in the appropriate archives of the local newspaper for Blackpool at the Local and Family History Centre at the Library.

A soldier in the York and Lancaster Regiment (12th (Service) Battalion, he died 1 July 1916, He is buried at the Luke Copse British Cemetery.

I am particularly interested in any additional information that may be in any article e.g. text of any letter sent to next to Kin etc. any other personal details.

Thanks for any help you can give.

Jenf ???

Hi

I doubt any newspaper report would include details of any personal correspondance sent by him.  Most reports were confined to family details, where died etc etc.

Were his mother & stepfather living in Blackpool or Yorkshire at the time he died as cwgc details were compiled some time after WW1

The family were in Yorkshire in 1911 and Hubert was born there.  His WW1 service record has survived and he attested in 1914 in Sheffield so if the family were still in Yorkshire when he died - any newspaper reports would be there - not Blackpool
