Hi If any one is going to either of the above, is it possible for a marriage lookup.
It is for the marriage of Joseph Belsey & Mary Hicks, I have the Banns of Marriage which are confusing they are for the 14th, 21, 28th July 1782 in the parish of St. Lawrence Hougham. Also found a document with just one line on it saying Joseph Belsey married Mary Hicks on the 13th July 1782 in the parish of St. Augustines, East Langdon. Seem strange they were actually married before the Banns were read. If some one could view the St. Lawrence Hougham marriages and also the St. Augustines, East Langdon marriages between the years of 1779 and 1782 (I have now found a birth of a child Sarah Belsey in 1779 in St. Margarets, Cliffe, daughter of Joseph Belsey and Mary Hicks or Hickes, which is not very clear on the online record) so did they have an illegitimate child before the marriage or were they in fact married before 1782.
