David Davies 1838-1881

Looking for info on David Davies wife, just prior to his death in Oct 1881 residing at Brewer Row Blaenavon wife Rachel Davies nee Price on death cert. Particularly looking for Rachel's marriage to David.  Thought would try this avenue of approach to see if someone has them in their tree. David born 1838  Llanelly Brec.

Is it possible David/Rachel never Married?
I cant find a possible Marriage 1868-1881

1891 Census Rachel is married to William HARRIES (Harris) and Children Rees Davis 1872, Amelia Davies 1879, David Davies 1881, all born Blaenavon, Monmouth, are there as Stepchildren of William Harries.

1881 Census William Harris born c 1834 Pembrokeshire is married to a Fanny.
1871 she is Frances Harris born c 1843 Dudley, Staffordshire.
Death Reg for Frances Harris, June 1884 Bedwelty, age 41 (Birth c 1843)
Married Frances GRIFFITHS, Dec 1866 Pembroke.

This is the only William Harries/Harris Marriage I can find on FreeBMD 1881-1891;

Rachel PRICE is a possible Spouse

Familysearch has him marrying Rachel Price;
03 December 1889, Llanhiledd, Monmouthshire, Wales
William Rees HARRIS, age 56, Birth c 1833
Rachel PRICE, Birth c 1846

Just a theory but worth considering.

I  havent found Rachel in 1901 yet
1911 William Rees Harris is Widowed, born c 1828, Sandersfoot, Pembroke
Sons George/John from 1891 Census are with him
Still looking for 1901 Census.

Yes that is my Rachel. Have birth & death certs to confirm also marriage to William Harris but alas no David appears, But on David death cert shows Rachel Davies as wife.  On second marriage to William it states Rachel as Price not Davies but also puts her as widow. So thinking more so as Rachel and David not married just taken his name.  Thought if there was a family tree with David on it, it might have shown something of Rachel.  Also birth cert of Rees Davies, Rachels son states father as David Davies and mother Rachel Davies formerly Price thats in 1873. Just wondering how reliable these certs are??  Thanks again for all your help.

Looks to me that they just never Married. Everything else seems to add up.
The Birth Cert only contains info given to the Registrar and no proof of Marriage would have been needed.
