Luckin Family Birth look up request

I cannot find any information in Census records for the Luckin family whose daughter, Alice Charlotte, was born in 1868 at Pancras, London. She subsequently married Henry William Copland in 1894 and her father is mentioned in the marriage record as James Luckin, but no information about her mother.

If anyone can look up her birth in 1868 it would be a big help, or otherwise advise me how to get a copy of her birth certtificate. Many thanks.

hi,,i think ive worked out who her mother is,,,just checking a few more details

I think her mother is Charlotte Lofts b 1840  Camberwell.Although she is given as b 1843 in the census.

in the 1871 census  Camberwell I found

Charlotte Luckin  married Thomas White in 1875 in Camberwell

I looked for a marriage of a James Luckin to a Charlotte Lofts.....couldn't see one at first,,,but if you look for a marriage for James Luckin,,you see one in Camberwell in J/A/S quarter  1863   volume 1 d page  792,,,no Charlotte named,,,one of the brides is missing,,,a check for a Charlotte Lofts marriage gives  the same year,,no place given,,but the same volume and page number !

So James married  Charlotte Lofts in 1863,,has at least 2 children,,,Edwin in 1864,,and Alice in 1868,,,But by 1871,,his wife is a widow,,,,she then marries  Thomas White in 1875.

unfortunately,,i cannot see a death for James,,,or track him in the census,,,which is why I asked about his occupation on the Alices  marriage certificate,,,did it just say  "deceased" ?

more work to be done,,,i guess you could order   Charlotte and James marriage cert?  cheers  GB

Edwin James Luckin was b 1864  registered  St Pancras  ,,he died aged 7 in 1864
