Hi all,
I'm trying to trace my great great grandfather, Thomas brown. The only info I have is the 1901 census which shows him living with his wife and children in roath Cardiff. On the census it shows that he was born in Bradley Wiltshire in 1847.

A look at the original image suggests place of birth is Bradbury which is transcribed on FindMyPast. However this just confuses the issue as I can find no evidence of a place called Bradbury in Wiltshire. Do you have names of his parents or his wife's maiden name?

Hiya,
What I've got to go on is a 1901 census which shows him living in roath Cardiff
Thomas brown 54 head
Jane brown 51 wife
Harriett pugsley 25 daughter
Charlie pugsley 28 son in law
George brown 14 son
Polly brown 11 daughter
Alfred brown 9 son
I'm getting the impression that Jane is not Thomas brown first wife and Harriet is janes daughter from a previous marriage? I'm also research Harriet, there is a link above
Many thanks in advance

I'm going to order Charles and Harriet's marriage cert to find out her mothers name. On 1901 census it says he's a carpenter, so I can't see the navy link being true but keeping an open mind. I've just ordered Alfred's birth cert from Barry as well.
