John James STAYNES (b.1856) and family - Ashby de la Zouch, 1910's
« on: Sunday 29 September 13 21:01 BST (UK) »
I've come across five postcards at a sale, that were sent to the wife of John James STAYNES in Ashby de la Zouch.

All were sent to the same address: 49 Market Street, Ashby de la Zouch, Leicestershire.

Three were sent from cities in Germany by John James STAYNES, the other two were sent in the UK by their youngest son Sydney STAYNES and all around 1910.

From the 1911 census, John James STAYNES (born c. 1856) was a china dealer and married to Gertrude (born c. 1862). Two of their sons also lived with them, Walter STAYNES (born c. 1886) and Sydney STAYNES ( born c. 1892). At this time they lived at 49 Market Street, Ashby de la Zouch, Leicestershire.

I've not done any other research but I would rather see these postcards go as a group to a family member rather than a postcard collector

Thanks for the tip Diddy, I'll get in touch with them.

I know it's a long shot but I hate to see these personal items go to collectors, rather than family descendants.
