Trying to find a death date for Peter Sweatman Born 1849 in middlewich

Plenty of people were buried without headstones, or they have been removed in recent years, but the graveyard offices will have records of who was buried there and where.  The council may be responsible for the graveyard now so it would be worth contacting them first, before you send your mother off "on spec".  Searching a large municipal cemetery is both very slow and hard work trying to read all the different types of stone.

Thanks Alpine cottage, I'd already suggested to her about popping into the cemetery office first cos they would be able to direct her to the plot a lot quicker   Great minds

Middlewich cemetery is looked after by Middlewich Town Council and Middlewich Heritage Society have transcribed all the burial records and will do a search for you. Their index shows that they have record (s) for the name Sweatman.  Their website is at:
