Captain John Anderson 1793 -1875
« on: Sunday 29 September 13 13:32 BST (UK) »
Researching old family story to do with Captain John Anderson his Scottish career and his Australian trip on board Shandon paddle steamer in 1854; and found relevant three-year-old postings from here about the family, out on the internet.
Still trying to find his parents, he is said to have been born 16 Oct 1793 near Glasgow/Paisley and died 1875 in Singapore.  Also I have relatively much on his second wife and family, but little on his first.  My family line is from Jessie, daughter of that first marriage, but not a direct line, mine are Macalisters. She may have been born in Belfast and she did marry William Boyd Macalister.
As a beginner to this site, unsure how to find the older postings as yet.  Thanks for getting me started here.

Thank you for finding the thread.

I am making some progress with the family line, small pieces are dropping into place.
