Look Up St Martin in the Fields Please
« on: Friday 27 September 13 13:04 BST (UK) »
Hi

I would love to find out whether the original records for the following entries on IGI have any additional information regarding the parents - profession etc. I think they are all for siblings born to Samuel and Marquise? Turquand.

Samuel Bartholomew Turquand - b. 24 Aug 1700, c. 25 Aug 1700
Marquise Turquand c. 13 Aug 1701
Mary Turquand* c. 1702
Nicholas Turquand c. 7 May 1706
Mary Turquand* c. 1707
John Turquand* c. 1709
Magdalene Turquand c.11 Apr 1710
Mary Anne Turquand c. 3 Aug 1711
Martha Turquand* c. 1713
Rene Turquand* c. 1715
John Turquand* 1717

In the case of the * names, I am not sure of the parents.

Any information might help me link them to their Huguenot forebears.

Thanks

Tony
My ggg grand father's names are Wardroper Reah Hillyard Thompson Sillick Druery Duxfield Heads Blacklock Richley Coulsen Riddle Scott Brown Dent - mostly from N.E.

Hi Tony

No extra info for

Samuel Bartholomew, Marquise, Mary 1702 & 1707, Nicholas.

There's also a Samuel, bp 17 Jan 1703, born 29 Dec, 1702

Having a look for the others

Checked the others and apart from Marquise's name being spealt differently (Marquisse, Marquesse), they all appear to be siblings.

The surname has been spealt incorrectly (g not q) so I've requested a change.

The couple married by licence 11 Nov 1699 so there might be some information there.

Hi
There's a marriage licence for a Samuel Turquand and Marquis Cabaret Nov 1699  issued by the Faculty Office .(Ancestry) no other details. It's also on FindMyPast with a transcript but what that show I don't know as I don't have a sub.
You may also want to look at a Rene Turquand and Catherine Marain at Le Patente Huguenot church.1720s.He died Brown's Lake buried Christ Church 2.5.1775 age 82 so born 1693.

The transcription on FindMyPast for the marriage in 1699 reveals nothing more than their names.

Rene Turquand and his immediate family from Châtellerault have been well documented. The question is whether Samuel is also related.

There is a cousin Samuel born abt 1673 at Châtellerault and marrying Marie Charon in 1696 (children Pierre 1697 and Marie 1698). Did he come to London in 1696 and remarry?
