Family Tree Printout

Can anybody recommend a program or a template that I can print out different charts for Parental or maternal charts like you see on Who do you think you are?

I am subscribed to ancestery.co.uk and have their desktop client plus macfamilytree.

None of these allow the printing of a nice basic Paternal or Maternal Chart with information Like

Born 1789 (place)
Occupation= Farmer
Married = 1812 (place)
Died 1855 (Place)

They all want to print out every connection possible not just direct trees.
It would be really nice to choose an old world type font and an option to Print to A3 etc with a Title and border.

I've done some like that - I used Autocad, mainly because it was available and it allowed me to have the trees exactly as I wanted them.

If you wish to continue your Ancestry subscription you might as well purchase FamilyTreeMaker, which comes with 6 months free membership. Make sure you purchase the version which gives the worldwide, or local, subscription that you require. You can upload your tree from Ancestry and import it into FTM. I don't know "macfamilytree" but I'm sure you should be able to export your tree in .ged file format and likewise import into FTM.
The charting options in FTM are good, whatever you may think about the rest of the program.

Thanks for the suggestions and have already done that 5 months ago.
The Charting abilities do not allow for tailored tree printing just the generic, vanilla 10-20 different family tree printouts.
I have never seen any mention of the ability to printout out what I asked for initially.
But thanks anyway for taking the time to try and assist.

Not to my taste but recently I  tried out the Free Sample of Genopro. It seems to centre of the tree display format rather than the database and is very flexible. It might be persuaded to output what you are after.

Have you tried Gramps (http://gramps-project.org/) there is an option with the graphical reports to add birth / marriage / death dates etc... it's not the easiest to use but it is quite configurable.

Gramps...that brings back memories...

In 2005 I switched over from Windows to Linux..for about 2 years and found about Gramps then.

Used it all the time until I then moved over to OSX.
Will download it for OSX and Linux (seeing i'm currently using Linux at the moment on my old laptop, ElementryOS which is absolutely fantastic and has got me back to using Linux..)
