Request for info: Elsie M WALDER / Albert J BOOKER, Midhurst area Sussex

I would be grateful if anyone could spare a moment to look up a marriage for me.

Groom: Albert John ("Hampshire?") BOOKER
Bride: Elsie M WALDER
Married: Apr-Jun 1936 (Midhurst 2b 1190)

I would very much like to confirm 1) their age / dates of birth and 2) their father's names and 3) (if poss) their middle names.

I am completely stuck as the birth records for Elsie on freebmd do not tie in with other suggestions and the one birth record that matches the area/date appears to tie in to a death record the following year.

I am searching for ancestors of Rosemary (b.to a Walder mother) and I believe these two people to be correct parents.

I think Dora (his possible mother) may have been Agns Dora Booker.. but it doesn't look like she was married.

There is an Agnes Dora Booker born in c1884 Southampton her parents are Charles & Susan (1891c) in 1901 she's just Dora Booker and a servant, I think this Agnes Dora Booker
can be ruled out , she died 1944

Agnes Dora Booker spinster of Arrow Lawn Eardisland Leominster died
2 June 1944 Admin to Henry Hardy Booker retired civil servant
(if you look at the 1891 census you will see that Henry Hardy is her brother)

You would need to check Albert Hampshire Booker's birth certificate (birth reg. given by Suz) to be certain of his mother's name  and if she wasn't married hopefully his father's name might be mentioned - you know his grandparents are named Rueben & Mary

That would then confirm if the Dec 1911 marriage might be the same couple (ie Albert Hampshire Booker's parents)

the 1911c says the head and wife had 8 children born to marriage.
I'm thinking that an older son may have been Albert j h's father and that Albert was not living with grandparents but visiting.
This might explain why Dora is single not married... She may not be his mother but an aunt.
Although "Hampshire" seems an unusual name unless it indicates his father. ?!?
I think I need the birth certificate for Albert to be sure.

I too think you need the birth cert to be certain - but be prepared - very often an illegit child is gived his father's name as a middle name

You could possibly be looking for a father with the name (Albert or john) Hampshire -there are a couple in the area!!!!

Hi, I think that the Elsie Booker that is mentioned here is my grandmother. I never knew her maiden name or the name of my grandfather. My granddad died just after I was born.
