A Bruntingthorpe marriage? 1816 George Arnold & Jane Southam?
« on: Monday 23 September 13 20:12 BST (UK) »
Hi,

Please can somebody help me I am slightly confused.com!

I have the L&RFHS Leicester & Leicestershire Marriage Index 1801-1837 CD and on it have found George Arnold married Jane Southam 1816 in Bruntingthorpe. So off I troop to the LRO to have a look at the Microfiche and to my surprise they are not there or in Claybrook/Ullesthorpe!!

How odd! George was born in Ullesthorpe and Jane in Clifton Upon Dunsmore, Warwickshire but the CD definitely says 1816 Brt = Bruntingthorpe.

Am I being a bit thick or very short sighted? please can you help by telling me which?  ;D

Many thanks

Thank you for looking, I'm guessing that's Thomas, Aminda and William?

Back to the drawing board............wonder where/if they married and wonder why the CD said Bruntingthorpe?  :o

Hi there,

If you are looking for George Arnold, son of The Benedict Arnold,
I wonder if BRT stands for somewhere in India, or is an abbreviation of a military term? He was stationed in India and had first a native wife, then married an english woman.

Hope this helps!
