where and when Sam Bole (from Scotland) and Annie Islington were married?

My Uncle Sam Bole emigrated to New Zealand in 1927, died in 1973, Annie Louisa Islington died in 1973. Any information on where he farmed and what church he was a member would be helpful.

Which of these Samuel Bole's was he?

b 1891 Renfrew parents James & Catherine

b 1899 Wigtown parents Samuel & Mary A

b 1901 Ayrshire parents James & Janet

There doesn't appear to be any marriage in Scotland so presume he married in NZ - was Annie b NZ

From that link he appears to be the one b 1901 and as Annie appears to have been b 1912 it looks like they married in NZ

Samuel's marriage did take place in New Zealand ... mid to late 1940's.   [Annie's maiden name was "Prestidge". ]

Sorry, not able to tell you where exactly they wed, though it seems likely to have been somewhere in the Taranaki province (North Island) where Sam seems to have spent all his time from the date of his arrival.

BOLE - Samuel - Kaponga - factory hand

By 1946, he is listed as a "farmer" - still residing at Kaponga.

1949 - Taranaki - Egmont


1969 ... Samuel, (farmer) and Annie ... both at 12 Victoria Atreet, Kaponga

1972 ... both at same address, Samuel listed as "retired".
