Do they have tv series too?

You could try North and South (BBC Series adaptation of Elizabeth Gaskell novel) ... cotton mills and all that

Found an american TV series whilst not looking on Friday, isn't it great ;D Going to have a look for the North and South series see if they have that among the titles

Not heard of the Family Way before Elaine thanks for your suggestion for the list  :)

which is the first part of a factual project by (I think) Salford University looking at life in old Salford prior to the 1960s clearances. It's a haunting piece of film made about 1968 but clearly shows how life had been for local residents for many years before. It lasts about 26 minutes. I do hope this link works. I came across it on Facebook as I belong to several groups with an interest in Manchester and Salford history. Second part:
