1911 census claims Samuel Banks was a Bosun on board ship but there is no mane of the ship. How do I find this out please?

It depends which census provider you're using.

If Ancestry, you'll find the vessel description on image 259.

If Find My Past, you'll find the vessel description by clicking the Address link (above the image).
