hi im trying to trace my grandfathers first marriage, his second is registered to my nana but his first is not any ideas please

William moore Gibson born 1896 born  Derbyshire his first wife was called flora ? i know the lived in Garston , his second wife lily Lloyd they married in the Wirral Liverpool 1935.

checked bmd site only lily Lloyd marriage is there and i know he was married before.

There seem to be approx 10 marriages for William M Gibson between 1916 ( when he was 20) and 1935 when he married Lily.
Have you been through them all to see if any bride is called Flora?  (Modified to add - just looked at them all and cant see one)


When he married Lily was he divorced or widowed?

divorced i hope lol, i haven't got his and lilys marriage cert yet .

Otherwise you wont KNOW if he has been married before!
What makes you think he was?

my nana always said he was as she was outcast because she broke the marriage

Were there children from the first 'marriage' - dont post names of anyone who is still alive.
But you may be able to find their births, and therefore the maiden name of their mother.
