SEARCHES
« on: Saturday 14 September 13 12:40 BST (UK) »
looking into my Murphy Family, i thought were would they be Buried what Parish Cemetry would they have been buried in,
So i found that in the 1901 Census they lived in 172 Leeson Park Avenue Rathmines and Rathgar East Dublin
in the 1911 Census they lived in 1.2 Westmoreland Park Rathmines and Rathgar East Dublin
and all people who were Roman Catholic before 1922. Were buried in Glasnevin cemetry
So i got in touch with them and they did a Search found John Murphy Born 1876 to John Murphy and Anne Murphy( my family ) Now it States he Died on the 2nd of April aged 25 a Van Driver.in 29 Leeson Park Avenue Rathmines and Rathgar East Dublin. His Mother Anne Murphy informed them of his Death
They also State that as he Died in April and the 1901 Census was taken in March. You should find all the Ooccupants of 29 Leeson Park Avenue in that Census
But no other murphy of john murphy and anne murphy is buried in glasnevin cemetry must have been in a different parish graves site
But i cannot find the 1901 Census for 29 Leeson Park Avenue Dublin.it is MISSING
It seems the Person who owned 29 Leeson Park Avenue was a Gorman Gregg /and his wife Maria Elizabeth Gregg. This was there first Home They bought. There Servant Anne Married John Murphy Stableman to Trinity College
When the House got to Full .They then bought 172 Leeson Park Avenue. This Census you can find
showing Maria Gregg Widow and Anne ans John Murphy Living There
So it seems the Gregg Owned two Houses in Leeson Park Avenue
One 172 Leesson Park Ave .They lived in
Two 29 Leeson Park Ave.The Murphy Sons and Daughters lived in,
Maria Gregg Died in 1904 .Leaving everything to her Son William Boroughs Gregg.
So the Murphy Family had to move out of Leeson Park Ave
At around this time they lived some where else .Because John Murphy who Died was not Buried in Glasnevin Cemetry a different Parish Cemetry.Anne would have been Buried with her Husband.
But then in the 1911 Census they are all back in the same Parish Again
this time living in 1.2 Westmoreland Park Rathmines and Rathgar.East Dublin
So i need to find Dublin Census 1901 for 29 Leeson Park Ave.Dublin
And the Grave of John Murphy who Died Between 1901 and 1911.in Dublin somewhere.
hoping this might help me in my searches

You have already have at least 2 topics looking for the Murphy family on the Dublin board-
www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?topic=657872.msg5036917#msg5036917
and the longer thread-
http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?topic=657339.msg5032158#msg5032158

Again, here's the link to the 1901 census- they are living in the houshold of Maria Gregg but 172 is the number in the census not a street number for that address:
www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1901/Dublin/Rathmines___Rathgar_East/Leeson_Park_Avenue/1292434

This is likely John Murphy in the 1901 census- note especially his occupation which is motorman-

Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

Aghadowey has already found it for you 172 is 29.

172 is the number of the Census return, not the number of the house.
