Is it on the back of the SWB If so they were all individually numbered and should marry up with the Silver War Badge Roll on ancestry

Edit...yes it is just looked....he is listed as will chas Adams depot KRRC enlisted 22 Nov 1915 discharged sickness in 1918
Badge number as you have it.

Ady

That's amazing.... aww Thank you.

Discharged due to Illness.....hmmmm wonder what that meant .... would that me ill from an injury? He didn't die till 1977! Does anyone know if I can find out this info?

KatieJJones, hey anyhelp is good help....... that would be great if you could.

The SWB was issued to soldiers who were discharged for either sickness or wounds, in this case you are lucky to have the info that it was sickness, it would seem he recovered but it was obviously too bad at the time for him to go back into service

You should be able to ascertain from the full medal rolls which battalion of the KRRC he went into, from there you should be able to trace where he was posted during the war ( if it's 13th battn I may be able to help) I do not know the WO reference for them but I'm sure with a little research you could find them
