Peter Parfitt died 1790
« on: Wednesday 11 September 13 16:32 BST (UK) »
Hi,
I am trying to find out more about Peter Parfitt died 1790. He was an organist of Newbury and became a Vicar Choral and Organist of Wells Cathedral where he is buried with a simple floor slab in the nave.
He was apparently married to Eliza and had four children; Edward, Edmund, Walter and William.  I have details of his will and there is no mention of his wife or children, leaving his estate to his brothers and sisters: James,Edward, Alice Ann and Elizabeth.
I have unconfirmed details that show Peters son William married an Elizabeth and their children included Samuel, Gideon, Henry and Elizabeth. Henry being born 1798, whom I am descendant from. Up to him my family tree is correct. I also have that Henry's parents are instead Joseph and Martha. Joseph had a brother William, though I am not sure its the same William as Joseph's parents are William and Nancy, which would have been Peter and Eliza.
I am struggling to find the connection to Peter and would like to prove/disprove the link. As he lived in Newbury and left  a sizeable will, which it has been suggested by Wells Cathedral archives he inherited can anyone throw any light on him or the family.
Kind regards
Stella
