Caldwells in Belfast

I am looking for records for George Caldwell b. 1825 in Belfast bapt. at Rosemary St.(Presbyterian) church.  The church records show his parents as John Caldwell (Calwell) of Millfield? (blurred word) and Rachel Walker.  George M. Elizabeth Thompson in a Belfast Parish Church (I think St. Stephans).

John was a tailor; Rachel's father Hugh Walker a weaver

Hi,
   George Caldwell married Elizabeth Thompson in St Annes Church of Ireland Shankill, Belfast in 1846. The fathers' names wer John Caldwell and Hugh Thompson.

LENNON WYLIE'S WEB SITE listing people/places on old Belfast streets, listed John Calwell in 1861 at 2 Curtis St. "sewed muslin warehouse"  I know Belfast of that era was a huge center for weaving textiles.  I am guessing there is a connection?  Also the bride's father Hugh Thompson was a weaver originally from Dorchester, Eng. , but I do not find further reference to him. Both families were Presbytrian and George & Eliz later had their Children baptised 1824/25 at Rosemary St. Church.

George worked for the Moses Sta(u)nton  a "room paper, carpet & damask Warehouse/later manufacturer at 9 Donegal St.

Hi,
   I think that it is unusual for a Presbyterian bride to marry in the Church of Ireland. It was traditional that in protestant marriages the couple got married in the bride's church.

I do not know why they were not married in a Presby. church as her familly were Presbyterian dissenters from England; but their children were subsequently baptised at Rosemary St. Presbyterian Church.

The parish marriage record records George residing with John Caldwell in (word actually unclear) Looks like Millfield; Milltown or ?  I know a Millfield road is in the Shankill parish near St. Stephans Church.  What do you think?

Hi,
   I am in Co. Londonderry, about 50 miles NW of Belfast. Millfield is also close to St. Annes Church of Ireland. This church was enlarged and is now Belfast Church of Ireland Cathedral.
