Sorry Kesannah, There are no entries for a Charles Reed.  I have looked at surname variations but can't see anything that would fit. Do you have any other information? Was he definitely in the Cameronians ?

The only  information I have is his name Charles Frederick Reed  Pte, Cameron Highlanders
No 9117(which I am told is a number missing). This information came from a Birth certificate for his daughter who was born in 1916.

The Cameron Highlanders and the Cameronians (Scottish Rifles) were two different sections. I have had  a look at Google and suggest you try there. The website called 'The Queens Own Cameron Highlanders ' may provide some help for you and maybe some of the others.

From the depths of my family history boxes, I have come across this "Roll of Honour" for the Cameronians. It contains over 7,000 names with Regimental numbers and Battalions. I am happy to look up any names for anyone.

I am on the research tem for the Neilston War Memorial in East Renfrewshire Scotland, We are looking to erect a memorial in our village next year(no civic memorial at all in the village) We are looking for soldiers that lived- worked- where born or enlisted in the Neilston Village. I know its a big ask but could you check to see any entries that are related to Neilston?

From a very quick glance through part of the book I don't see any Neilston, only Glasgow. Can you give me any names or number or even Battalion. I am going to be away from home for a few days but will have a more thorough search on my return.

   Private George    Allison 266013  died 1918 Dec 29th    was Born Thorterburn Neilston 10th Dec 1889 died in an Accident age 31 Cameronians Scottish Rifles 7th   Son of Gorge Allison (Farmer) & Jane Allison nee MS Anderson (Married 1884 mearns Renfrewshre)   The roll of Honour Allison George 7th Terr Batt Of the late George Allison of Thorterburn Neilston by his wife Jane Anderson Born Neilston in County Renfrew 10 Dec 1889. Educated Uplawmoor public school Joined the scottish rifles in Sept 1915; Served with the Expeditionary forces in Eygpt also in France since May 1916.Died at Edmonton Military hospital 29the dec 1918 of injuries accidentally recieved while on service.   
Remembered with Honour  Neilston Cemetery     Grave ref  D121.

     Private Alexander Laird 7094 died 1918 April 12th age 22 Was born Neilston 1896 Resided 39 high street Neilston Enlisted Glasgow Cameronians Scottish Rifles 1st   There is An Alex Laird Scottish rifles on the silver badge list badge number 40921 Reg number 7094 discharged 14/1/1916  with wounds  worked as a general labourer (Dye works)prior to war… brother of John. Brother James who survived war signed death cert 4th ?? April 1918 of 46 Gryffe Grds Houston : Parents James John William Laird and Agnes Laird.    Barrhead news 1918 Death notice Has 12th April at Darnley cottage Hospital  death of Alexander Laird Late of Cameronians and formally of Neilston: Note also see report below.1915 April 2nd gives article on false reports of the death of a Neilston soldier Pte Alex Laird 1st camerions native of village reported killed at front this was incorrect as he was in hospital in france with a sprained ankle. Note four Laird brothers in action  James Laird 2nd  of he A&SH(Wounded in action 21st Oct 1914) ~John Laird Kitchener's Army.......Alex Laird 1st Cameronians~ William Laird Came home from India and proceeded to France with the expeditionary force

I have been through your list and my book. Unfortunately there could be more names but if Glasgow is given as the home town it is impossible to find them.
on your list :
Pr. G Allison details the same
Pr. Alex Laird not in Roll of Honour probably due to discharge in 1916
Corp. Maurice McMahon details the same
Pr. Th. Slaven home town given as Blantyre
Pr. James Smith  home town Paisley
Can't identify the James Smith at Barrhead, too many J. Smiths and none from Barrhead.  Andrew Smith may have survived and would not be in my book but again many A. Smiths.
Pr. Archibald Stewart (not Stewart Archibald) no. 46192 1/8th batt.d. 29.7. 18 .
There is another A. Stewart no. 290770 also of 1/8th. batt. and d. 29.7.18 No place of death or home town given for either.
Pr. N. Rennie no. 265171 7th. batt. d. Palestine 30.11.17 Home town Glasgow.
