Cameronians - Roll of Honour , look up offer, over 7000 names.
« on: Monday 09 September 13 12:27 BST (UK) »
From the depths of my family history boxes, I have come across this "Roll of Honour" for the Cameronians. It contains over 7,000 names with Regimental numbers and Battalions. I am happy to look up any names for anyone.

Do you mean the original document? If yes, I imagine the Cameronian museum in Hamilton would love to have same.

Hi Scotmum

Yes,  this is the original book (187 pages) sent to the next of kin of all the men who died while serving in the Cameronians during the 1st. world war. The cover as you can see is slightly worn but the pages inside are all in great condition.

What a fantastic resource to have, then, and how thoughtful of the Cameronians to do such a thing at the time.

Does it give any information beyond name, rank and number?

If so I'd be interested in the entries for:

Lt T E D Dunn
Capt A C Gathorne-Hardy
Pte W Newman
