I am looking for any information relating to John Massey who was born approx. 1801 in Griffydam,Leicestershire. Ie his parents, I know he married a Ann Stinson and had at least one child called Dorothy. Any help would be appreciated.

The baptisms of three of the children have recently been added to Ancestry. They give the parents of Ann as William and Mary Stinson but nothing on John's parents. He was living in Griffydam for the baptism of John in 1836 and a Hawker living in  Worthington for the baptisms of Thomas and Dorothy in 1833.

My wife has Massey and Stinson/Stenson relatives in the area, including Worthington, but I have not been able to find a baptism for her ancestor, Mary Massey, daughter of Joseph.

I have several photographs of the graves of Masseys from Griffydam but nothing to indicate who John's parents might be. Most seem to be related to a Joseph Massey.

There are several baptisms of a James and Martha Kilbourn of Griffydam between 1806 and 1824.

Regards,

David
