Hi everyone, I'm totally new to this site so please bear with me.
My great-great grandmother emigrated from France (Alsace) and moved to County Cork, at some point between 1860 and 1882. Her last name was St. Leger (possibly spelled Saint-Leger). I know there was a strong St. Leger family in Doneraile, and so I'm wondering if anyone on this forum would have any insight as to who she was/the possibility that she was related to someone in the Irish St. Leger family at Doneraile?
I think it strange for someone from Alsace to immigrate to Co. Cork for no specific reason. It leads me to think that she had family there. Would there be any way for me to find out? Any and all help would be greatly appreciated!
Regards,
Bales
