I have those baptism details and also death of 4 months old Harriet in 1846. I gave the wrong date for death f a Harriet. Should have read Harriet 1849 in bmd for coventry. Hoping someone might have access to coventry workhouse death registers 1845 onwards published some time ago. Thanks for such a quick response

Do we presume Harriet Bentley never married - died as a young single woman ?...
do you know how old she was when she had Harriet in 1846 ?..
do you have her in 1841 census ?

We need another pair of eyes on this for someone elses opinion ..
there are DEFINITELY 2 Harriet Bentley baptising babies at St Michaels church Coventry from 1846 to 1848

Thomas Bentley baptised 27th feb 1846 at St Michaels - parents William and Harriet
Anne Bentley baptised same day - same church - same parents ( possible twins ?)

My personal opinion is that these next 2 children are to a different Harriet - no father named

Harriet Bentley baptised 8th May 1846 same church - parent Harriet Bentley  (3 mnths after the above baptisms )
Ann Bentley baptised 3rd November 1848 -same church -parent Harriet Bentley

So you have to discover which of these 2 Harriet Bentley died in sept qtr 1849 ....???
Williams wife ?....or what looks to be a single mother named Harriet Bentley
As of yet - you can`t know which one it is can you ???..if so I am missing something ...
any other members see any pointers that may have been missed ??

Nothing on the workhouse reg that I can see, however i did find a burial record for Harriett Bentley 30 Sept 1849 age 39 last address Leicester Street common grave

William Bentley burial 20 August 1848 Age 29 Last address Much Park street Hospital

I think that the above Harriett is possibly the mother of the illegitimate children. 1841 census a housekeeper in Berkswell

William Bentley mentioned above i think married Sarah Garner in 1844 St Michael's she is a lodger and a widow on 1851 census

Foxon, Lucas, Wells, Brentnall,Gutteridge,Cripps,Haly, Malin mainley from Coventry and Leicestershire
