Bushes Cross Guns Public House

Is there an online trade directorythat might help me. I'm trying to find out who was the landlord of the Bushes Cross Guns Public House after my Great Uncle Michael Bushe died around 1953.My mother many years ago talked of a Dr Willie Bushe but I think she might be confusing  things with William Bushe, another Great Uncle of mine who ran another pub in Dorset street.

!956 is the latest Directory I have, and it's still down as M Bushe. Sometimes these things took a while to filter through!

Thanks for the reply....Michael died in 1955 and I thought the number was 120 but may be wrong but it looks like  where that trendy bar called Smiths is now....I looked that up on the computer as I don't live in Ireland

Used to be a Bushes pub on the corner of Dorset Street and Upper Gardiner Street in the 1950s/60s.

Thanks Paul.....That was Michaels brother William (Willie) that had that Pub .

Even as a child I remember Willie Bushe standing outside in a long white apron,he may have had a large moustache as well.

I don't remember ever meeting Willie but did meet Michael once in his later life, both brothers of my Grandfather Daniel who died long before I was born.

I remember this pub quite well, as it stood out as a kid. We were unsure if we were related, but the unusual spelling of name made it a possibility. When I began researching my family, I found that my Great Grandfather was born and lived directly behind this pub. His father was from southside, but they lived in Eglinton Tc with his mothers parents.
The close proximity means it woukld be very unusual if they were not related?
My Gt Grandfather was William J Bushe b1885, and my Gt Gt Grandfater John Bushe b 1859.

My Bushe family come from County Clare both Michael who ran this Bushes Cross Guns and his brother William (Willie ) who ran the one in Dorset Street are the 1st. generation to live in Dublin.The Grandfather nor GGFathers names sadly don't match. It 's not a very common name but the name appears mainly in Dublin or Killkenny...the moneyed ones.Good luck in your searches and if I do find any connection I will return
