I know nothing of Sarah's family and thanks to everyone here I know a lot about Charles'. My Grandmother doesn't really remember anything about her Grandfather nor does she talk about his family. It seems as though sometime either after my Grandmother was born or a little before it something happened to cause Ellen to become estranged from the rest of the family and Grandma is being very tight lipped about what.

 :(

Would you prefer that we not add anything else to the thread  in case it causes any upset
-you can always be sent a PM (personal message) so only you can view details

I have amended my post and removed the 1924 marriage - I wouldn't like to cause any family upset if this might have been the reason - if you need the details again I can send them to you via a PM  :)

Can I check that we have not mentioned any person/s names known to be living?

Oh no it's fine. My Grandmother lives halfway across the country (me in Alabama her in California) and she doesn't even know my Dad is interested in her family. I think it's because she is so tight lipped about them that he wants to know. He is starting to get curious to where he comes from.
