The Anderson family of Minnesota
« on: Wednesday 28 August 13 04:25 BST (UK) »
Hello,

I have come to a dead-end in my research regarding the Anderson family. They are Caroline Anderson (a.k.a. Lena) b. 1899, Robert Anderson, with their 3 children; Dorothy E. Anderson b. 1923, Hazel I. Anderson b. 1921 and Robert F. Anderson b. 1926.

My last records of them are from the US 1940 census, where their last known addres is: 2920 Clinton Avenue, Minneapolis City, Hennepin, Minnesota.

Any information regarding marriages, deaths, and the descendants of the family would be delightful  :)

Thank you,

Ashley

There are some Minnesota BMD records at FamilySearch:
https://familysearch.org/

Could these be the deaths of Caroline and Robert?

Are you sure that all of the children are definitely deceased?  It is against the rules of Roots Chat to post about people who are or may still be living.

Hi Erato,

Thank you for your interesting post. I am not certain if they are them, but it is quite possible. I looked up my old notes and I have Carolina as born in June 1899. But I know from experience dates have the tendency to differ from record to record.

Kindest regards

Ashley

Take a look around at FamilySearch.  There are other records for Minnesota, including marriages and births but, not knowing if some of these people might still be living, I didn't want to link them here.

First, a word of caution; Anderson is the most common surname in Minnesota. It's like searching for Smith in other places, and might be spelled ending -son or -sen.

The Minnesota Historical Society has a free database of births and deaths before 1935:
http://people.mnhs.org/bci/
http://people.mnhs.org/dci/
More recent births and deaths, plus divorces, are available on Ancestry (but not free).

The Minnesota counties have a free marriage database:
https://www.mncounty.com/Certificate

Hi Nathanm,

Thank you for those great links. Yes, Anderson is such a hard name to research I agree, easy to get confused. I have another connected family by the name of Hanson from Wisconsin, which is just as hard or worse  ;) but sometimes there's that rare bit of luck.

Kindest regards
