George Rae and Christina Tweedie/Tweedy

Hi all just searching for a while for info on George Rae born abt 1840 think in Linlithgow as that what it says on passenger list to South Australia in 1852 on ship Medina, but cant seem to find parents or marriage .
any info would be helpful .

Yes that seems to be their marriage but no parents names there , so any info would help me heaps.

On 26th June 1852 Christina Tweedie, my 1st cousin 4 x removed left these shores for ever. Having travelled from Scotland to Liverpool with her husband, George Rae, an agricultural labourer from Linlithgow, and their children Mary 4, Thomas 2 and David 6 months, they boarded the Medina and began their journey to Australia. The Medina was the 16th ship to leave England for Australia that year and carried 410 government emigrants bound for South Australia. Conditions on board must have been bad as twelve children under the age of two died in the space of five days and five on one single day. The cause seems to have been dysentry. George and Christina's youngest child David was one of these casualties and like the other children was buried at sea. The journey took 105 days and the ship arrived in Port Adelaide on 9th October. Christina died in Redhill, South Australia in 1902.

Looks like George Rae died 1877 Clare , South Australia.
Have you checked the death to see if it mentions parents ?

Online trees I've looked at don't seem to have his parents

They are mistranscribed as Reid on the 1851 in Dixon's Row, Whitburn, Lanarkshire.  George is working as an Iron Minor and young Thomas and Mary are with them.

That census gives George born in Wiston, Lanarkshire so it may be worth looking there for him too.  The original marriage entry for him and Christina also gives him of the Parish of Wiston.

There is a George Rae born in Wiston, son of Daniel Rae and Agnes Weir on 7 August 1819 that could be worth looking at.

I wonder if he lived in Linlithgow as a child and got confused as there is  no George Rae that I can see born in Linlithgow around that time

 ev we must be cousins removed as Thomas is my great grand-dad his son William John is my mums dad .
