Searching for Thomas Evans - from Earsdon Northumberland
« on: Saturday 24 August 13 14:08 BST (UK) »
Hello,

I am looking for the siblings of my great grandmother Catherine Ann Clough (nee Evans). Her parents were James Evans and Mary Robson Hornsby.

She had three younger brothers:
James B 1905, Thomas B 1906 and William B 1908; I think Thomas moved to Australia and William possibly owned a pub in Blyth, Northumberland.

I am looking for the families of these 3 men, I hope they had wives and children (who would be my second cousins).

Catherine is very important to me, my cousins and my aunt and it would be so fantastic to find out more from other family members who are out there but we have yet to be in touch with. Even if they don’t want to be in touch it would be so wonderful to speak to them to hear what they know about the Evans family, and especially the relationship between James Evans and Mary Robson Hornsby.
We think James had a child out of wedlock and also had an affair with someone in the Blyth Orchestra as he was also part of that.

If you are one of these people related to these men please contact me, my email address is: *

I would love to hear from you, and would be very happy to share any information on the family I have if you were interested.

Catherine is the only one from my entire family that I look like – I would be interested to see if this familiar similarity continues to my great grand uncles and their potential families.

All the best, Jemilla

Hullo jemilla
The first item on the Australian Resources page is.

Searching for living people. Worth a look.
http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,368728.msg2632620.html#msg2632620

From time to time some help is given so that people can attempt to find long lost relatives from another country. However this is not the main purpose of Rootschat, it is instead helping people find their ancestors details and snippets on their lives.

Firstly what proof do you have that Thomas moved to Australia?

Thank you for the link - the other post is also mine, I am trying to cover all bases.

A first cousin, once removed who was his great niece said she had read a letter from him as he would write to his great nephew. He had a son. But no marriage can be found.

Hi

Agree with Neil... What info do you currently  have about your chap?

Very Important  CAn you confirm his son is no longer living ... if not please remove his name.

When/Where  was your chap last found by you.....

Re Great Niece letter ...
What era /decade/year did she receive letter and
Was letter from Australia... if so which Aussie state/colony ...

Australia occupies entire continent ...We have  Eight different BDM systems ... Would help if you popped more clues if you want lookups rather than hope for direct contact with family via public forum where Google follows the posts quickly.

Cheers JM

Thanks for your reply. I have contacted the cousin who has the valuable letter - once I've got more information hopefully this will help with clues.

Thanks again.
