Delves School, Wybunbury 1892
« on: Thursday 22 August 13 00:48 BST (UK) »
I've just received the marriage certificate of my great grandparents (Joseph Thomas Mellor & Sarah Galley). It states that the marriage took place at "Delves Licensed School" in the parish of Wybunbury (Sept 22, 1892). Does anybody know why they would have been married in the school and not a local church? Any further information about the history of the school and its use for weddings would be great. Thanks!  :)
