Medical Category AWI (OS)
« on: Wednesday 21 August 13 21:33 BST (UK) »
My mother served in the A.T.S. and was "examined at Leeds on 28th June 1945 and placed in medical category AWI (OS)" prior to discharge.   Was does that mean, please?
P.S. I don't know if the 'I' is a '1' or an 'I'.

Thank you, James.  That fits in very well.  I never realised my mother had heart problems but I learned through family history that all the males on her side of the family had heart attacks or blocked arteries in their fifties.
