My mother served in the A.T.S. and was "
examined at Leeds on 28th June 1945 and placed in medical category AWI (OS)
" prior to discharge. Was does that mean, please?
P.S. I don't know if the 'I' is a '1' or an 'I'.

I think it could be Anterior Wall Infarction, a heart condition, can't find anything on (OS)

Thank you, James. That fits in very well. I never realised my mother had heart problems but I learned through family history that all the males on her side of the family had heart attacks or blocked arteries in their fifties.
