1930s or 1940s?
« on: Sunday 18 August 13 17:10 BST (UK) »
If anyone can help narrow it down a bit, it would help with my search to determine my great-aunt's second marriage.

Many thanks  :)

Thanks granger, I was leaning towards the 40s but it's helpful to get another opinion  :)

Going to stick my neck out here but that car..... flat bonnet, a Lanchester?
They ceased production pre-war but were still around in the 1950's.

Allanby's, Thompson's and Pannett's of Leeds and Tadcaster.
Streeter's and Kent's of Croydon.
Cavalli's and Cascarini's of Wales and Italy

Something in the deep recesses of my memory says that, due to rationing, you couldn't get a double-breasted suit during or shortly after the war.  So it would either be pre-war, or a very old suit.

More than likely old car and suit then  :)

Thank you Graham and Hibee, I appreciate your opinions.

After a lot of ferreting I've found the marriage - it was 1948.

So, more than likely an old suit and car!
