Bronith Cottage Clyro

Back in 1861 a relative of mine lived at the above.  I am endeavouring to find out a bit more about the property.  i.e. past owners/tenants - location.  I suppose this is directed towards someone living in the area also Pant-y-Cae Farm.  My relatives were william and susan williams. many thanks

Hello

My great Great Grandfather was William Fryer who at the age of 22 married Lydia Williams in Talgarth, Brecon. It seems he was the Miller at Clyro and his Dad was either the Miller there too or at Glasbury in which Parish Clyro falls.

Lydia was the daughter of John and Johanna William and was born in Talgarth where the Williams family are large and one was also the Miller - not John, it seems.

At St Michaels Church, Clyro there is a Mural Monument inside the church made of white marble, dedicated to the memory of Elizabeth Williams of Bronith Cottage. Could she possibly be a relative of your William & Susan ? Perhaps you could ask on the Clyro Community Website Forum as I'm sure someone would be able to help you.
There is some info at the Powys County Archive Office under Clyro Court Deeds & Papers relating to Bronith Cottage. If you do contact them ask for RC/E/CLY/7/105-118 these refer to W M Baskerville Esq. Deeds relating to hereditaments & premises at Clyro 1841-94 & 1815-1869

Just North of the village is "The Cottage" - is this Bronith Cottage?

My 2xggf, James Allen, lived at Bronith Farm in 1851 and at Bronith in 1841 and 1861. He was the custodian or similar of Bronith Chapel.
